Canon PowerShot S95 camera review
The S90’s quality, predecessor to the Canon S95 camera that we discussed here, was already at a high level. There were a few features, such as the position of the zoom button, which prevented smooth control of the camera. The Canon PowerShot S95 has improved these points and the quality has increased, even in terms of image quality. Of course, there is always something left to be desired, but so far, Canon has managed to produce a reliable, high quality compact camera.

We would have liked to see a wider angle, for example, preferably 24mm, and less emphasis on the tele range. The Canon S95 could also be a bit faster. This does not mean that the camera is slow, but the competition shows that faster is possible. Improving or upgrading such features would make the camera more all-round, and appeal more to the photographer, without having to surpass the largest target group, the amateur.

Additionally, the Canon PowerShot S95 can use a little help with a few beauty faults found in the lens, by correcting them withsoftware inside the camera. We would have liked to see the effective correction of the chromatic aberration visible in wide-angle shots. Some purist photographers prefer to control these corrections themselves, but we are convinced that this is not the case for the majority of users.
Canon S95 for creative photography
The handy format and light weight in combination with the many manual setting possibilities give ample opportunity for the user to get creative with photography. Additionally, the Canon PowerShot S95 is equipped with an automatic mode with several pre-programmed scenes so that the beginner photographer can easily use it, too. The nice screen gives a beautiful display and the user experiences the captured moment in high quality every time.
Canon PowerShot S95 review rating
With an improvement of certain points in the image quality and a reallocation of certain buttons on the camera, we can speak of a successful update of an already fine camera. The Canon PowerShot S95 is a worthy successor to the S90 and although the improvements are not revolutionary, they are present. If you are looking for a high-quality camera with compact dimensions and creative possibilities, you should consider this camera. The Canon PowerShot S95 camera is recommended to anyone that has high demands for image quality and ease of use.
