F88 Wrist Watch

F88 Wrist Watch Mobile Phone
Apparently, with cell phones crammed with variety of features ruling our lives, we would not like to load our wrists with more machines that are redundant. However, the F88 Wrist Watch Mobile Phone might still lure some of you with its irresistible charm.

The designers tried their best, but failed to cram the cell phone into the watch and here lies the mammoth, which you would probably not like to wear all the time. It seems like they have just added a wristband to a cell phone and festooned it with a 3-megapixel camera, speakerphone and color display to lure you in vain. Would you like to wrap your wrist with this 3.5-ounce ugly but cool machine for $1,111? I doubt so.

Watch Mobile Phones now a reality

http://www.girl.com.au/img/watchphones.jpgTHE FUTURE IS HER NOW- WATCH PHONES ARE NOW A REALITY

Maxwell Smart would be the first to replace his shoe phone with the new Mobile Phone Watch---and its technology would not only amaze him but would blow away his predecessors today, with a combination of technology in a format not yet seen in Australia. Even Dick Tracy's watch phone couldn't conceive the features of this phone.

The Mobile Phone Watch is now a reality and it's coming to Australia. NV Phones are the first to pioneer and commercialise the new phone here with an official launch in Sydney on Friday 30th of January 2009 at 10.30am at Novotel Sydney on Darling Harbour 50 - 100 Murray Street Pyrmont NSW. There will be a formal demonstration of over 10 mobiles phones with technology not seen in Australia at this point.

The phone has the latest quad band frequency technology which can be used through 3G and Next G coverage in Australia and with any GSM network around the world, offering significant logistic and economic advantages.

And it doesn't stop there-a range of mobile phones are also being released with twin sim technology; the latest Voice Recognition software; free TV and radio on some models; and the first waterproof Mobile Phone Watches in Australia.

Twin Sim Technology means the phone contains two transceivers, as opposed to one in standard phones, which means that both sims can be active at the same time, enabling two phone numbers, and even two networks, for the one phone.

Wrist Watch Combo

April 10, 2008- We have talked about several new cell phones designs that have incorporated a cell phone into a watch, however, I believe that this is the more stylish yet. Most of the previous designs have been a little bit larger than the style of watches most business professionals that would be able to afford such an extravagancy might really wear. The Van Der Led WM2 is a nice combination of style and convenience. The smaller size of this cell phone watch makes it more suitable for everyday wear by anyone.

The Van Der Led WM2 features a stylish design that incorporates a 1.3 inch 260 K color touchscreen display, stereo Bluetooth options, and is a lovely watch as well. The Van Der Led WM2 offers users 240 hours of standby time as well as 300 minutes of talk time and a 1GB memory to save data and multimedia. The Van Der Led WM2 will be available next week on the 14th for 300 EUR, or about $471.

Talk to your Wrist: Watch & Cell Phone

Watch and Cell Phone Here is a bit of future technology for you to get your eyes on, a triple watch and mobile phone which lets you talk to the wrist.
Not only is this a phone but a desk clock and watch as well, although it does seem very bulky but the idea is fantastic as I have a nice watch which I do not where much as I take my mobile phone everywhere as that’s a better tool and has the time on it.
Now if I could have a nice stylish watch and it’s a phone that would be cool and a safe and nice place for a phone (takes you back to knight rider days).
They just need to make the thing a lot smaller and more stylish then it would be perfect and could become popular.
They also say it has Bluetooth but as this is just a concept you can say its got many far fetched gadgets as its all just ideas and many of us can come up with ideas…now is it possible is the question and would you want a gadget like this.

Verizon Droid

Verizon Droid Incredible – New Verizon cell phones

The Verizon Droid Incredible cell phone by HTC is a great device. I’ve only been waiting for the Incredible because I didn’t want the Droid’s slide out keyboard. One major winning point for the Verizon Device is the screen tech, the Droid Incredible has OLED screen where as the EVO 4G has the TFT. The HTC Droid Incredible and the Sprint EVO are not alike. The EVO is similar to the HD2 without WinMo. We’ve also heard the HTC DROID Incredible will launch on Verizon Wireless on April 29th for $199. It’s a really nice phone!

The Verizon HTC Droid Incredible features include 3.7-inch WVGA capacitive AMOLED display, 8 MP camera with Dual flash and AF, 1 Ghz Snapdragon processor, 512 MB RAM/512MB ROM, WiFi, GPS, FM Tuner, Sense UI. I’m glad Verizon got a nice Android device.
The Verizon Droid Incredible will running Google Android 2.1 OS. Google has already said they aren’t happy about Android fragmentation. They’re working on being able to update core services without changing the UI overlay. In otherwords, once they release 2.2, any android phone will be able to upgrade OTA instantly. No more wait times.

Verizon HTC

Verizon HTC Incredible release date April or May?

The new Verizon HTC Incredible Android phone looks nice, we want the red back! it’s a thing of beauty. 8MP camera is great, 768MHz CPU is not underclocked. Qualcomm’s source clearly says there is a 768MHz part, presumably available to OEMs at a lower cost. This phone has everything!!!

Reportedly, the Verizon HTC Incredible features include an 8 Megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, WiFi, GPS, 512MB of RAM and a microSD card slot. It runs Android 2.1 OS and Sense UI. It’s awesome! I think for me it really comes down to straight Android vs. Can’t wait to see what’s available this summer! An April or May release isn’t that far off..

webOS Coming

webOS Coming to Laptops, Desktops

It was pretty clear from the moment we heard that HP was going to buy Palm precisely what the company was in it for: webOS. What wasn't clear, however, was precisely how many devices the company planned to implement the mobile operating system on.

web os pc.jpgHP/Palm unveiled three new devices today--the Veer, the Pre 3, and the TouchPad. Two smartphones and a tablet. But HP has even larger plans for the operating system. The company capped off today's event by announcing plans to implement webOS on other connected devices, including printers, and some form factors you haven't seen before."

The company showed off shots of a printer, laptop, and desktop all running the operating system. More details coming later this year, apparently...

Augmented Reality

Augmented Reality Begins in the US

On Auguest 26th 2009, Yelp launched the first iPhone Augmented Reality application (some argue it’s not the first) specifically for the US on the App Store. The easiest way to define Augmented Reality (AR) is: the addition of virtual information to the real world when someone views it through a device (think of The Terminator) such as the iPhone or the Android.

Just imagine what people will be able to do with AR as it advances: show the name, height, width, date built, owner, etc of a building when you look at it, virtual storefront signs, …deciding not to rent 10,000 BC from the movie store after your iPhone views the DVD cover and shows you the critics reviews…

Spying Technology

Spying Technology, Part 2: Your Cell Phone

The previous post focused on police and the government spying on your internet use. This post will focus on them too because they are the ultimate, uber, covert, master-ninja spies with infinite money to invest in the latest technology.

For international calls, cell phones use communication satellites to send data between each other. The downlink from the satellites is forwarded through ground stations nearest your cell phone (where local calls forward through). Yup, there are huge supercomputer headquarters collecting and monitoring all your cell phone usage on cellular ground stations. This action is called “Signals intelligence”, or SIGINT. The US government, and 4 other allied nations worldwide, collectively uses a program called ECHELON to do all its spying work.
ECHELON, operated by the NSA, is the king of all spying activity. It is essentially operated the same as NarusInsight, but with more capabilities in wireless cell phone use. They can and do listen to any wireless signal. This secretive program is just now being recognized by businesses and entities worldwide. They use it for military, for political, and for any use they deem worthy, and they’re pretty secretive about it too. I won’t even begin to explain what they can do with this technology (Read this article). Just Google it. Keep reading:
Now knowing this information, say you wanted more privacy and you don’t want anyone else listening to your cell phone conversations and text messages… So you say “let’s meet up and not talk on the phone”.  Yes, the FBI can listen to your conversation in real life, without you knowing, whenever they want. Quoted from a news article on ZDNet:
The U.S. Commerce Department’s security office warns that “a cellular telephone can be turned into a microphone and transmitter for the purpose of listening to conversations in the vicinity of the phone.” An article in the Financial Times last year said mobile providers can “remotely install a piece of software on to any handset, without the owner’s knowledge, which will activate the microphone even when its owner is not making a call.”” (Read the whole article here)
This spy technology is called a “roving bug” and will function EVEN IF YOUR CELL PHONE IS OFF.

Face-Tracking Technology

Face-Tracking Technology for Cell Phones

http://www.shotaddict.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2006/11/fotonation-cell-phone.jpgTired of taking pictures of your friends with your camera phone, only to find you've captured a dark blob of nothing? No longer just reserved for digital still cameras, face-detection technology has arrived for cell phones. Yesterday, FotoNation unveiled Face Tracker, the world's first face-detection and tracking technology for camera phones.

Face Tracker "detects the presence and position of a subject's face at up to 30 frames per second during image capture, enabling the optimal setting of exposure, focus and color balance," according to the press release. An online demo shows many of the aforementioned attributes, and also the simultaneous tracking of two faces at once. It would be interesting to see the phone track the eight faces that FotoNation says the technology is capable of.

FotoNation Face Tracker is platform-independent and scales in performance according to the power of the processor used in the device. It can run on both Symbian Series 60 3rd edition OS and Windows Mobile 5.0.

The technology is available now for licensing; it's only a matter of time before poorly exposed camera-phone images of people are a thing of the past.

Olympus E-PL1

http://www.displayblog.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/02/Olympus_E_PL1_Micro_Four_Thirds_Digital_Camera.jpgOlympus PEN E-PL1 system camera review
Olympus is making headway with the digital PEN, which is logical. It is a very smart concept and a very nice cross between a compact camera and an SLR camera. The design also makes it appealing to a lot of people. That may be truer for the E-P1 than for the Olympus PEN E-PL1, which has a bit of a plastic and more angular appearance, making it less charming. But that is just the outside.

Olympus E-PL1 offers an excellent image quality
On the inside, the Olympus E-PL1 resembles the other models in the PEN-series a lot, which is a positive thing. Just like the other models, the E-PL1 offers excellent quality. Noise only becomes a ‘problem’ in the highest ISO values, but normal sensitivities work well. In any case, it is a lot better than a compact camera. That is also true for the dynamic range and the color display.

Olympus E-PL1 with 14-42 mm kit lens
A big advantage of the Olympus PL1 in comparison with a compact camera is that you can change the lenses. A standard 14-42 mm zoom lens is included. That is sufficient for most photos. And if you want more tele, or more wide angle, then you can buy another lens. Or a nice compact pancake. Then you won’t have the zoom, but you will have a very compact set. And there is something to be said for that.

Olympus E-PL1 built-in flash
The Olympus E-PL1 is truly meant for the beginner photographer, which makes it logical that the Olympus E-PL1 has a built-in flash. The other models appeal more to the advanced photographer, who doesn’t necessarily need a built-in flash, as they may prefer photography with existing light. This is possible with the PEN, because it also has a built-in image stabilizer.

Olympus E-PL1 with new iAuto mode
The new way of changing settings in the iAuto mode works great. That will certainly appeal to a beginner photographer. You don’t get overwhelmed by difficult terms, you just get clear language. And you see what happens immediately. The built-in tips that Olympus provides to photograph certain subjects are very smart. So that you can learn something from the camera!

RAW photo processing with the Olympus E-PL1
Olympus missed the mark a bit with the RAW processing. This is especially a http://www.photoxels.com/images/Olympus/e-pl1/olympus-e-pl1-k-14-42-800.jpgdrawback for Apple computer users. The RAW file has been adjusted again, so that the known software cannot (yet) process these files. Olympus does not include software for the Mac. That’s just not up to speed. If they would just mention that you can download it on the internet in the user’s guide, but Olympus fails to mention that, too. As an Apple user you are left out in the cold. Perhaps Olympus made a ‘mistake’, which would be fairly easy to solve.

Olympus E-PL1 camera review conclusion
Luckily, you can work with RAW and enjoy the photos that the Olympus PEN PL1 can make. Be sure to work with the art filters, they offer a valuable addition to the possibilities. The E-PL1 is the third PEN and a true beginner’s model. It has handy ways of advancing in photography and it stimulates you to take a lot of photos. The Olympus PEN E-PL1 system camera has an excellent price/quality ratio and represents an example of what a Micro Four Thirds System means, as far as I am concerned: the ease of a compact and the quality of a DSLR. Add to that the remarkable good price… what else could we wish for?

Canon PowerShot S95

http://geeguru.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/canon-powershot-s95-product-420-90.jpgCanon PowerShot S95 camera review
The S90’s quality, predecessor to the Canon S95 camera that we discussed here, was already at a high level. There were a few features, such as the position of the zoom button, which prevented smooth control of the camera. The Canon PowerShot S95 has improved these points and the quality has increased, even in terms of image quality. Of course, there is always something left to be desired, but so far, Canon has managed to produce a reliable, high quality compact camera.

Canon PowerShot S95 digital camera
We would have liked to see a wider angle, for example, preferably 24mm, and less emphasis on the tele range. The Canon S95 could also be a bit faster. This does not mean that the camera is slow, but the competition shows that faster is possible. Improving or upgrading such features would make the camera more all-round, and appeal more to the photographer, without having to surpass the largest target group, the amateur.

Canon PowerShot S95 picture quality
Additionally, the Canon PowerShot S95 can use a little help with a few beauty faults found in the lens, by correcting them with software inside the camera. We would have liked to see the effective correction of the chromatic aberration visible in wide-angle shots. Some purist photographers prefer http://www.dcresource.com/images/news/canon_081910/20100819_hiRes_s95_back.jpgto control these corrections themselves, but we are convinced that this is not the case for the majority of users.

Canon S95 for creative photography
The handy format and light weight in combination with the many manual setting possibilities give ample opportunity for the user to get creative with photography. Additionally, the Canon PowerShot S95 is equipped with an automatic mode with several pre-programmed scenes so that the beginner photographer can easily use it, too. The nice screen gives a beautiful display and the user experiences the captured moment in high quality every time.

Canon PowerShot S95 review rating
With an improvement of certain points in the image quality and a reallocation of certain buttons on the camera, we can speak of a successful update of an already fine camera. The Canon PowerShot S95 is a worthy successor to the S90 and although the improvements are not revolutionary, they are present. If you are looking for a high-quality camera with compact dimensions and creative possibilities, you should consider this camera. The Canon PowerShot S95 camera is recommended to anyone that has high demands for image quality and ease of use.

Digital Minolta Cameras

digital minolta cameras
Minolta is one of the oldest companies which manufacture cameras. The Minolta camera still retains a respect among the photographers and the camera lovers and collectors. Minolta upgrades its products as often as required. So if you are looking for technologically most upgraded camera, then you can give the first preference to Minolta cameras.
It is a common knowledge that the Japanese are the makers and users of the most advanced technology in the whole world. So we have a lot of faith in the products manufactured by any Japanese company. The body of the camera, the various types of lens, the features provided is unparallel. In this age of cut-throat competition, when various makers of cameras are bringing their latest innovations, Minolta camera has still retained its position. Minolta’s wide range of cameras prevents us to look beyond; we are spoilt for choice!
digital
The features provided by Minolta camera are unique. The cameras manufactured in 1960s used the manual-focus technology. From there, the face of camera has evolved a lot. Now is the age of digital cameras. The digital cameras are high resolution cameras; it means that the pictures taken with digital cameras have a very high resolution. The pictures look clearer and the colors are vibrant. Minolta now provides digital cameras with SLR facility. They provide a wide range of models for the users. The user friendly models come in classic black color. The picture clarity of these cameras is something that is worth mentioning.
digital minolta cameras
While we talk of high resolution and picture clarity, we cannot forgo the topic of megapixels. The higher megapixels give better resolutions. The photographs will look even more real. Besides, the cameras will reflect the exact color of that of the subject. The colors will never look artificial or superimposed. There are different modes incorporated in the camera. You can go to manual mode and adjust it to your liking; or you can take pictures in auto mode. Then there is the natural setting, the scenery mode and even the video mode. Home videos and holiday videos are very easy to make with Minolta cameras.
digital minolta cameras
The cameras have another important feature known as the red- eye correction. It is usually seen that in some pictures the pupil of a person or an animal looks red; this is because when a camera is focused at the person or animal the flashlight falling on the pupil of the eye makes it look red. This was a great problem with the older cameras. Now with Minolta’s upgraded digital cameras this problem is auto corrected and the pictures look natural. All these technologies offered by Minolta have made it easy for us to choose our careers as photographers.

Sony Cyber-shot

Sony Releases Five New Cyber-shot Compact Cameras, One With 1080/60p Video

Sony's at it again. The company always seems to be "first" at something in the camera world, and recently they've become the first to introduce a digital still camera with 1080/60p Full HD video capabilities, not to mention 3D still image capture with only a single lens and imager. Both of those feats are really impressive, particularly the first. Compact cameras have been stuck at 720p for what feels like a century, and we have been patiently waiting for some camera manufacturer to come along and take things up a notch. DSLRs and camcorders have been shooting at 1080p for awhile, leaving the point and shoots behind. But no more.

Sony has unveiled five new Cyber-shot digital cameras, which promise to bring "DSLR-like quality" to the compact realm. All five cameras use a 16.2MP sensor, and all five have 3D capabilities with a single lens. The DSC-TX100V, DSC-TX10, DSC-HX7V, DSC-WX10 and DSC-WX9 are the new models to look for, and all five share a Dual Recording technology that even allows them to snap still pictures while recording video. The TX100V is the one that has a 1080/60p movie mode, and it's also the first Cyber-shot with a 3.5" OLED touch panel. The whole gang has Sony's Exmore R back-illuminated CMOS sensor, which is supposedly quite a bit better than standard sensors at shooting in low light.

All of the cameras will ship in America during the first half of 2011, with prices ranging from the $200s right on up. Specifics on each are listed down below.

SONY INTRODUCES WORLD’S FIRST DIGITAL STILL CAMERAS WITH 1080/60P FULL HD VIDEO CAPABILITY AND 3D STILL IMAGE CAPTURE WITH ONE LENS AND IMAGER

New Top Models Add A 16.2-Megapixel “Exmor R” CMOS Sensor And Dual Rec; One Model Adds An OLED With Touch Screen

LAS VEGAS (CES Booth #14200), Jan. 5, 2010 – Sony today unveiled five new Cyber-shot® digital still cameras that make it easy to get DSLR-like quality still images, stunning 3D photos and high-quality full HD videos.

Sony has designed five new innovative 16.2-megapixel Cyber-shot cameras (models DSC-TX100V, DSC-TX10, DSC-HX7V, DSC-WX10 and DSC-WX9) that are the world’s first compact digital still cameras to include 3D Still Image mode for taking 3D images using only one lens and imager. They also have innovative Dual Rec (record) technology, for taking still photos during video capture. The DSC-TX100V camera is the world’s first compact digital still camera to include full HD (1920 x 1080/60p) video capability. This format provides the least distortion for playback on a high definition television.

The TX100V is also the first Cyber-shot camera with a 3.5-inch OLED with touch screen that provides deeper blacks and more vibrant color contrast on the screen, all while being thinner and having a faster response time than most LCDs. It’s also useful when shooting movies. Additionally, the DSC-WX10 camera is one of the only digital still cameras to include a high-speed linear auto focus feature that provides quick and precise focusing similar to the speed of a DSLR camera.

“Sony is one of the first camera manufacturers in the industry to provide a 16.2MP CMOS sensor, which is a great benefit for consumers,” said Kelly Davis, director of the digital imaging group at Sony Electronics. “They are getting the best image quality as well as all of the benefits of the “Exmor R” CMOS sensor technology in very compact, stylish cameras.”

With Sony’s 16.2-megapixel “Exmor R” back-illuminated CMOS sensor technology, these models provide excellent low-light performance, up to 10fps burst shooting and the Intelligent Sweep Panorama™ feature.

“The DSC-WX10 and DSC-WX9 Cyber-shot cameras are technology packed CMOS models providing the consumer with great “Exmor R” features such as low light, 3D Still Image/3D Sweep Panorama mode and AVCHD™ video all in a compact size with a wide, bright lens,” Davis added. “The DSC-HX7V camera builds upon the success of last year’s DSC-HX5Vand continues to improve, while addressing the growth in the compact high-zoom camera segment. With the best of Sony’s technologies, the DSC-TX100V is an ultra slim, sleek camera that can go anywhere and do everything. Its sibling, the DSC-TX10 camera, is a technology-packed, ultra slim, fashionable T-series camera that is also durable.”

Advanced Video Capture

With full HD 1920 x 1080 at 60p video capability, the DSC-TX100V camera provides stunning, fast motion video smoother playback when shooting action such as sports and capturing better still images when clipping from video. The DSC-TX10, DSC-HX7V, DSC-WX10 and DSC-WX9 cameras record crystal clear movies at 60i in 1080 AVCHD format.

Borrowed from the Handycam® camcorder line, these new cameras have Dual Rec mode which can shoot video, while simultaneously capturing 3-megapixel digital still pictures (2-megapixel in 4:3 ratio when recording in MP4). The cameras feature a dedicated still image button and a dedicated movie capture button to make it easy to use for consumers. Dual Rec does not work in 60p mode.

Create Personal 3D Content

Sony makes it easy to create personal 3D content that can be viewed on an HDTV with 3D home theater system. 3D images can be captured using 3D Sweep Panorama™ mode or the new 3D Still Image mode. In this mode, the camera takes two consecutive shots in different focus positions to calculate the depths, and then it creates left-eye and right-eye images to produce a 3D effect. These images can be enjoyed in 2D or stunning 3D on compatible 3D televisions like Sony’s new BRAVIA® KDL-HX820 models (3D-compatible HDMI™ cables and 3D glasses are also required and are sold separately).

The 3D Sweep Panorama™ feature lets you take panoramic pictures in one press-and-sweep motion. The high-speed burst of frames is stitched together using innovative processing techniques to automatically create detail-packed 3D panoramas.

These cameras will let you view images in a whole new way.  Unlike 3D Sweep Panorama mode, which lets you view your 3D images on compatible 3D television systems, Sweep Multi Angle™ lets you view images moving in simulated 3D right on the cameras’ LCD screen (or OLED with touch screen using the DSC-TX100V) by tilting the camera back and forth. This shooting feature captures 15 images at different angles and then compiles them into one photo, creating a 3D-like effect on the display.

Easy Menu Selection Technology

With improved Superior Auto and Intelligent Auto modes, all of the new cameras capture more dynamic pictures. They automatically recognize the correct scene mode, then quickly shoot and combine up to six multi-shots to produce images with greater clarity, optimum dynamic range using backlight correction HDR technology and lower image noise using six-shot Multi-shot Layering technology.

Improving simplicity from previous Cyber-shot models which featured nine scene modes, the new DSC-TX100V model offers 36 Still Picture Mode scenes and Movie Mode scenes. The DSC-TX100V and DSC-HX7V cameras automatically detect a combination of scenes and conditions, making it even easier for consumers to get the best shot. Using the DSC-TX100V model’s Intelligent Scene Recognition feature, there are 12 recognized scenes including the new Infant, Spotlight and Low Light. Using the DSC-HX7V camera, there are four recognized conditions including Motion during Movie mode.

Designed to help users learn about the cameras’ features and how to use them on the spot, the “In-Camera Guide” is accessible from the menu button on the camera. Users can search by purpose or keyword and easily access the functions they seek.

These cameras also have Background Defocus mode, which highlights your subject like a DSLR; Soft Skin mode, which reduces visible blemishes and wrinkles and Natural Flash, which corrects color balance for more natural shots. All five cameras also offer fast capture with up to 10fps at full 16.2-megapixel resolution.

With a 10x optical zoom Sony® G lens and a compact camera body, the DSC-HX7V model offers built-in GPS and Compass which records the location and direction of where photos were taken. The DSC-WX10 camera features a 7x, bright F2.4 24mm wide angle lens and the high-speed auto focus feature; whereas the DSC-WX9 camera has a 5x 25mm wide angle lens for capturing the perfect group shot or landscape in one shot. You can view your images on the DSC-WX9 camera’s 921,000 Xtra-Fine LCD with the new Control Wheel.

With Backlight Correction HDR (High Dynamic Range) in the Scene Selection Shooting mode, these cameras make it easy to get the best shot in difficult lighting conditions. The DSC-TX100V model has an HDR feature that compiles the highlights, mid-tones and shadows from three separate shots to create one realistic-looking photo. The DSC-TX10, DSC-HX7V, DSC- WX10 and DSC-WX9 cameras compile two images in Backlight Correction HDR mode, enabling crisp details in difficult lighting.

DSLR Speed

With the new high-speed auto focus feature, the DSC-WX10 camera provides a smarter way to focus with DSLR-like speed. Instead of having a mechanical gear to drive the AutoFocus, the DSC-WX10 camera has a magnetic coil (like those used in an audio speaker) to move the lens linearly and achieve AutoFocus in a straight back-and-forth motion—not rotationally.

A Little Water, Dust or Ice? Bring It On

Where conversation piece meets workhorse is the 16.2-megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-TX10 camera. It is waterproof, shockproof, dustproof and freeze-proof compliant, offers HD movie and 3D photo capture, plus Intelligent Sweep Panorama, an “Exmor R” CMOS sensor that promises crisp clear photos even in low light and a 3-inch LCD with touch screen.

Waterproof in up to 16 feet of water for an hour and shockproof up to five feet, the DSC-TX10 model lets you take high-quality photos, including panoramic pictures. It also lets you take Full HD 1080i videos of your friends, family or pets underwater. From the tropics to the top of the mountain, the camera is also freeze proof down to 14 degrees Fahrenheit, so you can take pictures on your next snowbound adventure.

Not only is it good to go in chilly weather, but the sleek DSC-TX10 camera is durable enough to withstand an accidental drop from up to approximately five feet. Additionally, it is dust proof thanks to its airtight construction, so you can take it with you wherever the dust might kick up.

Mitsubishi WHDI

Mitsubishi Launching WHDI-Enabled Wireless LCD TV, As Early As This Fall

8-21-08-mitsubishi_amimon(2).jpgFirst Sharp took on AMIMON's Wireless High Definition Interface (WHDI) technology in their X-Series LCD TV's, and now Mitsubishi has chosen AMIMOM to supply their integrated HD wireless link for a few upcoming sets in Japan. Embedded with a wireless chip, Mitsubishi's upcoming LCD lineup consists a two parts-an LCD panel and a separate HDTV receiver unit that streams uncompressed HD video.
So far no pricing or specific availability dates have been released, nor have any model numbers or specs for the new WHDI-enabled line. Mitsubishi has revealed though, that the wireless HDTV's could be available in Japan as early as this fall.

Samsung LED

Samsung Bringing LED Backlighting To 40-Inch Model

4A(2).jpgSamsung has unleashed 8 new LCD TV's on Japan that we're already familiar with as Samsung's Series 7/8/9 models. Dubbed PAVV Bordeaux in Japan, Samsung has tweaked the feature set for the country, taking the InfoLink service we know and spinning it as Library TV (basically just YouTube access). Something North America and Europe didn't get in their PAVV Bordeaux iteration is a 40-inch set with LED backlighting, something the 40-inch Bordeaux 780 sports. Samsung says moving local dimming technology to smaller models is a direct attempt to spread LED's to all sizes of LCD HDTV's. We like that thinking Samsung.

Samsung 3D TV

Samsung 3D TV arriving in Ireland early April

The era of 3D television is upon us and the first 3D panels to be sold in Ireland will be through Samsung, who has confirmed that electronics stores will be getting shipments from the second week in April.
When will I be able to buy a 3D TV?
With 3D televisions arriving in Irish shops from the second week in April the first consumers can expect to be sitting down to a three-dimensional experience in their living room by the end of the month.
Samsung is the first TV manufacturer to bring 3D TV to Ireland and will be offering this new technology across its three offerings: LCD, plasma and the recently introduced LED screen.

3D TV series

Sony releases new midrange 3D TV series

http://sonyrumors.files.wordpress.com/2010/06/sony_3dtv_header.pngSony’s finally taken the wraps off its latest televisions for the US market, carrying the NX810 model number. Available in 60-, 55- and 46-inch sizes next month, these give a 3D spec bump (and around a $200 premium on the MSRP) to the existing NX800 series of Edge LED lit HDTVs that came out earlier this year. Like the NX800, these feature a slick monolith design, built-in WiFi, widgets and an ambient light sensor to automatically adjust the picture in changing room conditions, but other than the 3D-readiness (and coupons for free Blu-ray 3D movies and PSN games, though it looks like you’ll have to pay for the glasses on your own) it’s hard to find any differences on paper. Football fans looking for a new 3D TV set may be tempted to jump on one and can check the specs and prices after the break, but we’ll probably wait around to see what a Google TV might bring to the table — and at what price.
NX810 is the latest present that Sony is giving to the television market in US. This one comes in three dimensions of 46, 60 and 55 inch and scheduled for launch next month. Earlier this year they had come out with the NX800 model TV sets and this one goes should have been steps in its 3D specifications. The design remains the slick monolith style and has the built in Wi-Fi feature as well as widgets and a sensor to sense the ambient light for automatic adjustment of picture setting. All in all the set looks near similar to the previous model other than the 3D readiness as well as some free coupons that are given for Blu-ray 3D movies and some PSN games. Even the 3D glasses have to be purchased separately. It is advisable to wait for the Google TV and its price before one jumps fort this particular model.
A comparison of the various models available in the showroom says that the BRAVIA is by far the most astounding and outstanding. The sets are on display at the Sony’s open house in NYC. In 3D viewing the effect was indeed stunning to watch the characters come near live in interaction.

The Newest Television Technology 2010 – 3D Television

The Newest Television Technology 2010 3D Television pictureWho’s watching Avatar in 3D movies? Amazing, Isn’t It? Pandora planet seemed to be truly alive.
How quickly the world of technology development. Looks like we’ve just started to enter the high-definition TV, Plasma, LCD, and LED. But now in 2010, the estimated high-definition television technology in 3 dimensions (3D) have started going there in the market.
Just imagine, if you watch a movie, or TV broadcast of the most beautiful beaches in the world, the white sands and clear blue water, then you’ll almost like being there. Cool, Isn’t It? Or if you watch movies like Avatar (by James Cameron, 2009) for example, then you’ll like being on another planet.

And the star players, such as being as near as you compete in your room. Absolutely insane!
3D television technology already owned by the world’s leading electronics manufacturers such as LG, Samsung, Sony, and Panasonic. Even the “3D ready” already in stores in the U.S., Japan, and Korea at a price between U.S. $ 1000 to U.S. $ 2800. Which will be marketed in 2010 is a more sophisticated version.
3D impressions that had often seemed a bit dark, it can be solved long ago by Motorola, with new technology that has the brightness of the image (brightness) high.
Even in South Korea, television there, with all-out support from the government and the giant conglomerates of Korea (Chaebol), will start running television programs in 3 dimensions only a few weeks away, early 2010.
How 3D technology work? A movie or a show produced by 2 or more cameras for a picture, which will be divided into the picture to the right eye and left eye. Later we will also wear special glasses (with the blue glass and red), which will unite the image captured by the right eye and left eye. From there will create the illusion of depth 3 dimensions.

It is being presented by Dr. Michael Millis, Professor of Surgery, University of Chicago, and is coauthored by Drs. Zhongping Duan and Jing Zhang, Beijing You'an Hospital, and Shaojie Xin and Shaoli You, 302 Military Hospital, Beijing.

Previously, it was reported that 84-day follow-up of ACLF subjects enrolled at two liver treatment centers in China showed statistically significant improvements in TFS for ELAD treatment compared with standard of care (SOC). At least three years following enrollment, survivors were consented and underwent a cancer screen and physical exam in accord with a questionnaire.

Of 49 subjects enrolled, 84-day TFS was 21/32 (65.6%) in the ELAD group vs. 7/17 (41.1%) in controls. Three-year TFS was 14/32 (43.8%) in the ELAD group vs. 3/12 (25%) in controls. Of 84-day survivors, 2/21 (9.5%) ELAD and 2/7 (28.6%) controls died, 1/21 (4.8%) ELAD and 0/7 controls were transplanted and 4/21 (19.0%) ELAD and 2/7 (28.6%) controls were lost to follow-up. Survival analysis reveals a statistically significant improvement in TFS (p=0.045, log-rank analysis) for the ELAD treated subjects compared with SOC. Median survival of controls was 37 days, whereas median survival of ELAD treated subjects was at least 3 years. There was no evidence of tumor development in either group.

Dr. Millis commented, "This is the first time that a long term survival benefit has been demonstrated in subjects who recovered following treatment with ELAD. It is highly encouraging to note that those subjects that survive in the short term are able to go on to extended survival without any apparent increase in mortality or morbidity compared with subjects administered standard of care."

Dr. Duan, who served as a principal investigator for the study, commented, "China has about 95 million HBV carriers and chronic hepatitis B patients, and 38 million hepatitis C patients. It is estimated that 0.1%-0.5% of these patients will experience severe hepatitis due to acute hepatocellular necrosis or hypofunction, which results in hepatic insufficiency and hepatic failure. Mortality from this condition still remains around 50%-70% even with comprehensive internal medicine treatment, leading to as many as 400,000 deaths per year in China from acute liver failure. When approved for commercial sale in China, ELAD will be the first bioartificial liver support system proven to improve survival in this population."

In order to confirm these findings from China, VTI is conducting the SILVER (Stabilization In LiVER Failure) trial in the United States, Europe and Saudi Arabia which has achieved 50% of its targeted enrollment. Should this study yield positive findings, these results, along with data from other studies, will form the basis of regulatory filings for future marketing authorization.

About ELAD and the SILVER TrialThe SILVER protocol enrolls subjects with chronic liver disease who have been hospitalized as a result of an event, such as an infection or an episode of bleeding, which has caused deterioration of their liver function (acute-on-chronic liver failure, ACLF). The trial is designed to explore whether the use of ELAD in this setting can prevent continued deterioration of liver function, called progression, and thus improve survival. The trial design uses a well-established measure of liver function called the MELD score to define the status of liver function.
.
Treatment with ELAD, along with standard of care, is compared with standard of care alone. The time to either death or deterioration of liver function by a pre-specified amount is measured. It is postulated that the use of ELAD may extend the time to progression and improve survival in this rapidly progressing patient population.ELAD is a biologic liver support system using a proprietary line of allogeneic human liver cells refined by several leading cell experts. The cells are stable, immortal, can be grown in unlimited quantities and retain their hepatocyte (liver cell) characteristics. About one pound of cells is used for each treatment. The cells are grown in specially designed cartridges at VTI's cell culture facility and used to treat the patient for up to ten days.ELAD is a trademark of Vital Therapies, Inc.
